Liturgical Opportunities
Liturgy/Worship Commission
The Worship Commission is responsible for setting goals, directions, and standards for the overall liturgical life of the parish. Its purpose is to see that the spiritual needs of the parish are met. It is their responsibility to evaluate the environment, music, worship space, acoustics, the celebration of Mass and the sacraments.
The Liturgy Planning Group works in cooperation with the pastor, musicians, and liturgical ministers to orchestrate various forms of worship. They plan the celebration of the Mass, Communion Services, and also other prayer services for the spiritual life of the parish.
If you would like to assist in the planning of the liturgy, contact Joeline Lecture at 921-7527 ext 107.
Music Ministry
The congregational singing is led by a variety of musicians whose goal is to deepen the prayer life of our parish through song. The melodic voices of the choir are intermittently enhanced by the harmonious music of Carol Birchak on the cello and Pat Murdock on the flute and guest instrumentalists.
Choir members are always welcome. Contact Joeline Lecture at 921-7527 ext 107 for further details.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God at the liturgy to elicit a faith filled response. Anyone of high school age or older is welcome to serve in this ministry.
Contact Sandy Heitz at 471-9253 if you are interested in being a Lector.
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion to fellow parishioners at Mass and at Senior Chateau. Instruction in proper procedure is provided.
To assist in this ministry, contact Sandy Heitz at 471-9253.
Servers
Servers have a special role in our worship community to assist and enhance our praise at Mass and at sacramental celebrations. Servers are needed for Masses, weddings, funerals and other special occasions. Women, men, girls and boys are all welcome to serve.
Training will be scheduled as needed. Contact the Parish Office at 921-7527 ext 0.
Gift Bearers
Gift Bearers bring to the altar the bread and wine that will become the Body and Blood of Christ. Gift Bearers present these gifts in the name of all those present at Mass. If you wish to carry the gifts, take the flower from the back of Church to your seat before Mass. After the Prayer of the Faithful, return the flower to the vase and carry the gifts up to the altar.
Ushers
The ushers assist with the Sunday liturgy in greeting worshippers, facilitating seating when necessary and taking up the collection. Frequently the head usher will assist in counting the offerings. Both men and women are invited to join this ministry.
